Glomma in Stor-Elvdalen
Edward with Koppang Camping has reported there is still good fishing to be had in Glomman and Stor-Elvdalen. Fisherman from throughout Europe frequent these waters in search of both Grayling and Trout. The water levels have gone up recently with late summer rain, but the conditions are still very good for wading. Consistent hatches of Mayflys and Caddis make for excellent dry fly fishing. Earlier this week Edward guided a young lady from Austria and Robin from Switzerland on their first day of flyfishing and they both managed to catch their first grayling on the fly.

Vannstanden har gått noe opp i det siste men det er fortsatt veldig greie vadeforhold. Det klekker fortsatt både døgnfluer og vårfluer så det er gode forhold for tørrfluefiske. Tidligere i uka guidet Edward en ung dame fra Østerrike og Robin fra Sveits. Begge var nybegynnere innen fluefiske, og begge fanget sin første Glomma harr.
Peter Nielsen fra Danmark fanget nylig en gjedde på hele 75 cm i Glomma. Det er ikke uvanlig med store gjedder i Glomma, men denne er fanget med fluestang og 0,16 fortom. Det foregikk ved at en harr først tok flua til Peter, deretter kom gjedda og tok harren. Godt gjort å klare å få en så stor fisk i land etter denne metoden.
Peter Nielsen from Denmark recently caught a pike of 75 cm in Glomma. This is not unusual, as the Glomma river is known for its variety of species including large pike, but what is remarkable is that he managed to land this pike on 0.16 mm tippet. After hooking into a nice grayling the pike attacked the grayling. Although not too unusual it is always a treat to land a big predator this way.

Snorre Grønnæss of Gjerfloen Flyfishing in Trysil reports good fishing due to good waterlevels and mild temperatures. Olav Syversbråten and Jørgen Hagen from Hemsedal managed to land 86 grayling during one day on the water on July 26th.
In the Rena the pupa larvae become very active as the darkness approaches, and so do the large Rena trout. If you aren’t up for fishing an entire day then take a trip to Rena Fiskecamp and wait for the evening to wet your line. You can spend the slower afternoons munching on delicious burgers, freshbaked Pizza and baguettes, and enjoy yourself a cold one at the newly opened cafe and bar. As the photo shows they also sell artificial fish food in the form of locally tied flies. Opening times through July and August are as follows:

With Escapade Norvegienne the season is going as usual. Groups of new flyfisherman steadily come in for guided tours from Jean Philippe. Here we see one of the guests with a very nice Grayling. Guests have access to fish in the Glomma with Kvennan Fly Fishing, the Hola, the Sømåa, and other rivers and lakes in the Fishspot area before returning home satisfied.
With Kvennan Fly Fishing the fishing can be a little bit difficult in August. There are loads of fish to be found, but they can be very selective with dry flies. Recently, guide Hein Van Aar has had a lot of success nymphing as well as throwing small streamers.
