The Glomma fishing assosiation offers one card that covers a total of 50 good fishing waters, and more than 90 kilometers of rivers. The Glomma rivers is the biggest river and the one most people know about, and among fly fishermen the autumn fishing in the area called the Koppang Islands is a dear distraction. The area is varied in its typography with everything from calm deep sections, to  small water falls and rapid streams. The Glomma holds a lot of fish and also big fish. Every year keen fishermen from all over Europe visit the river looking for exciting fishing and great nature. Often forgotten is the abundance of smaller streams and lakes. This is places that you most likely will have all to your self, and many with very good stocks of trout. Taking time off the Glomma and exploring these places is well worth the effort.

Further North in Stor-Elvdal you will find the Atna water system, and with its license you will have access to trout, grayling and arctic char in more than 50 waters and 150 kilometers of rivers and streams. Many waters are small but are still very interesting, and with Rondane National park as a backdrop the scenic nature will be worth it, regardless the outcome of the fishing. The small and clear mountain rivers are also worth a visit. They accommodate sight fishing after easily spooked trout that dart over light sand bottom if you are unlucky. The deep gullys of the river often hides bigger fish.

We would recommend combining your trip with a kayak padling expedition in the Glomma or the Atna river, especially in the calmer sections.
