A great day in river Folla

Fly fishing guide Tore Litleré Rydgren, brought a group of fishermen to the Folla and Grimsa river. They really hit the mark regarding weather and fishing conditions. The trip went via Sollia in Atna where the amazing view was as beautiful as always.

Small mayflies
– The water level in Folla was perfect. We just had time to catch a few fish on nymphs with indicators before the hatching started. Littel olives was what the fish had on their menu and the fish got totally locked on to them . More specifically they where on the emerging may flies not the duns. This is quite common on windy days when the newly hatched may flies can take off easily. This making it more effective for the fish to concentrate on the emergers hanging in the water film, Tore adds.

We had very good fishing on olive coloured emergers tied on a curved hook with grizzly paraloop hackle. Several of the fishermen had doubole figure catches and most of them was about 40 cm with some over 50 cm.
