Kvebergsøya offers this unique environment, old houses with the soul of former times.

Welcome to Kvebergsøya, a traditional barnyard in Folldal, with roots going back to the 1600’s. The buildings are old en authentic and also restored with modern facilities. The farm is near to the forest an the famous Grimsa river. The mountainous region offers rich outdoor experiences, hiking, fishing, horse and carriage.

Kvebergsøya have something for everyone, that being the keen fly-fisherman or a family with children. There are activities, farm animals and cultural hiking tracks for the family. There is also very good fishing options in smaller waters with marked trails, well suited for a family  in lakes like Kroktjønn or Grimsbutjønn. The more hard core fly fishing angler can enjoy the days in legendary Grimsa river, and then relax in the lazy afternoons on the farm.

Activities
Like mentioned before, with the feeling of having gone back in time, you can enjoy several activities. There are trips with horse and carriage going deep into the Rondana Natinal park, visiting old mountain farm houses, in truly stunning surroundings with jagged peaks as the back drop.  There are good possibilities for observations of wild animals like moose, fox, beaver, deer, eagle and other rare birds. In general a photographers dream.

Accommodation
Over the last years the old Ola-stua was carefully renovated and adapted to modern standards. The old kitchen has a large soapstone fireplace and is used as a living and dining area. Alongside Finstua cabin is located, with a lovely Murphy fold-down bed. On Kvebergsøya one can experience natural quietness and tranquility – surrounded by meadows and forests – a place where you will sleep soundly and rest yourself.

Our room are furnished with old pleasant furniture and antiques. We offer free access to wireless Internet, there is a TV in the library. Lovely views over the fields and pastures.

The cottage “Eldhus” is placed on the yard and it has place for 2-3 persons for overnight stay in a bunk bed. Own bathroom and a kitchenette give you the opportunity of self-sufficiency. At advanced booking the cottage is warm and the bedding is done. We clean up after your departure. It is possible to order breakfast and dinner, which is served in the old kitchen of the farmhouse.
