On the banks of the huge Femunden lake, you will find Femundtunet – a cluster of cabins and houses where you will find the accommodation best suited for your fishing adventure. Its proximity to lakes and nearby rivers, not to mention the vast Femundsmarka outback, it is an ideal place to use as a base-camp for different expeditions. You can also camp or place your caravan here.

If you are travelling trough, you can take a break for a day or two, or just give the cafeteria a visit. Many have stopped here and chosen to stay.

The fishing opportunities here are great and diverse with a huge number of lakes and rivers. Here are some of them.

Pike fishing
Vurrusjøen and Drevsjøen are shallow and productive lakes. They are two of the few lakes in Engerdal that have a population of roach in addition to whitefish. This gives the pike good conditions and they grow fast. Here you will find pike over the 10 kilo mark with good margin.

Femunden
Lake Femunden is Norway’s third largest  and it is surrounded by wilderness. When fishing this lake a boat or a canoe is recommended, so you can be trolling after the big trout up to 10 kg or use an oter (planer board) after 0,5 kg+ trout or arctic char. When out on the lake, take great care. The winds can come suddenly so stay close to shore. You have the possibility to rent a canoe.

Femund river
The Femund River runs through stunning nature from the outlet of Galtsjøen and down to the border of Trysil commune. The river has a varied characteristic, with rapids and quiets pools. The river is easy accessible and offers good trout and grayling fishing, with the exception of Galthue Fly Fishing Zone you are allowed to use all techniques
