Femundsmarka ­National ­Park

Fiskesesongen nærmer seg nå med stormskritt og det er på tide å starte planleggingen av årets fisketur. Vi har her en sterk anbefaling til deg: - Dersom du ikke har vandret med sekk og fiskestang i Femundsmarka tidligere, ja da er det virkelig på tide! Ta turen i sommer og opplev villmarksfiske på sitt ypperste i Femundsmarka Nasjonalpark.

With the fishing season approaching rapidly, it is time to get started with the planning of this years fishing trips. Us here in Fishspot have a strong recommendation for you: – Hiking with rod and back-pack in the Femundsmarka National park is a very rewarding experience. Get on the wild side and and try some wilderness fishing this summer. 

The enchanting pull of the Femundsmarka National Park have sent many fishermen and hiking enthusiasts on their best eventures.  The nature in Femundsmarka is old pine forests with scattered lakes and a network of streams, the whole experience and atmosphere of this place gives you the true wilderness feeling, some places like as if you are the first person there. The old forestry culture is prominent some places and the fish can become very big.

The Femundsmarka National Park is the hiker’s paradise with vast areas to venture into. In the old days, logging, hunting and fishing was how some people made their living, and remaining to this day is the old housings they used. They are open (and free) for travelling visitors to use for a night or two. Hiking through the many trails and stopping to spend the night in various cabins is a good way to see this great national park. With over 800 lakes webbed together with creeks and streams, you can make your own route off the beaten path, but you can also stick to marked trails.

If you plan the right starting point, a canoe is a very good way to get through the land. With it you will glide silently as you negotiate yourself through the many streams and lakes, and this can really bring you close to nature. – Not to mention the many good fishing spots. Trout and artic char are abundant, some places allso grayling, white fish, pike and large perch as well.

The quiet secluded woodlands, mountains and widespread open landscape makes for fishing in beautiful surroundings. Some fishing opportunities calls for long hikes, others lie in closer proximity and are fairly easy to reach. However, they all invites you to experience the wild. The silence, the wildlife, the sounds of nature, and the summer lights.
