Unique mountainous fishing in Oppdal

We are very excited to present one of our new areas, an area that sports a unique fishing for mountainous trout and arctic char. The Oppdal region commons, being one of the biggest region commons, offers one common license that covers some of the best high mountainous waters Norway has to offer.

The Oppdal region commons governs the fishing in the area, and are also responsible for cultivations and stocking of local juvenile fish where spawning is sporadic. The fishing here is regarded as very good, but as with any mountainous fishing, it can be tricky and are very reliant on the right conditions. If the waters is too warm, the fish are put off, but this only occurs in the end of summer or really shallow lakes.

Fishing in scenes like this is very addictive, and many have made high plateau fishing like this their preferred style of fishing and hiking. You do have to be an outdoors person, and be prepared to do relatively long hikes to reach the more remote areas. The hiking is in open areas with a fairly smooth hike in most places. With over 120 lakes holding both trout and arctic char, your adventure and record fish often lies behind the next hill.
