The Gausdal valley is an area that offers diverse fishing and hiking in the area between Gudbrandsdalen and Valdres, in what is called Gausdal Vestfjell and part of the Langsua National park. Here you will find diverse nature and fishing ranging from deep forests, marsh lands and vast mountainous areas. And in it – a range of fishing possibility i rivers and waters. 

The fishing in what’s known as the Gausdal Common area, offers an array of fishing options. Wet your line in crystal clear mountain lakes with wild mountain trout, quiet and dark forest lakes, and kilometres of varied streams and creeks. In addition to trout some waters holds arctic char and perch. The fish is in good condition and the do grow to good sizes.

The Gausdal Vestfjell area and Langsua Nationalpark is a hiking and fishing area made for hiking and outdoors life. A well established network of marked trails, makes hiking and navigation between the pristine fishing areas easy. You can either spend your nights tenting or you can stay in some of the many cabins disposed by the Gausdal Mountain board. One these cabins is the Leppehytta cabin.

The Gausdal Mountain board have accommodated their area so that the experience of rural mountain life can be enjoyed by everyone. The smooth shape of the landscape, and well facilitated area, makes this a good and safe place for families with children. If your stay is too short for hikes in the mountain, one have several options for fishing in places accessible by road.

The Gausdal Mountain board have made some fishing accessible for everyone, regardless of personal mobility. The  Valdrestjønna lakes is one of them, with docks and benches.
