We have smoking hot news from a larger part of  the Fishspot arena, with reports on good fishing and lots of acivity.  The picture above shows flyfishers in Glomma at Kvennan Fly Fishing.

Gjerfloen

On the Trysil river, the Gjerfloen Fly Fishing fishery are passing news of perfect water level (81 m3/s) and good  temperatures. Kennet Fidje also reports that the north wind have put a dampener on the fishing, but with the forcasted change of wind direction, the river will be on fire. All ready we are seeing several Sulphurea mayflies, but now even the Danica mayfly are appearing sporadically.  Iselin Sesseng (Elverum) and Trond Walstad (Eidsvold) landed a good number of grayling Some up to 45 cm.

Grimsa

Fishspot writer and all round expert on the Grimsa river, Bjørnar Hansen, have made his way down the Grimsa river, and he had quite the fishing experince as the caddies fly made an early entrance. Read the story of a crazy caddis hatch. There are tickets available, and this is the time to go.

døgnflue

Fishing guide Martin Mikkelsen have just had another evening run at the Rena river, a river that has not quite woken up yet, and there is not very high activity. However, with a bit of effort, a rising fish can be found. The north wind are not doing us any favors, but the latest forcast have a change to south coming up today. Martin have observed a number of the mayfly species Aurevillie and Sulphurea.

ørret

Fly fishing enthusiast Runar Nikolaisen have had his annual trip to Vangrøfta river, where he also have struggled with heavy north wind.

– The baetis mayfly was hatching between 14:00 and 17:00, and in some places for even a wider window. Despite the strong wind I caught three fish on Saturday, the biggest on about 1,4 kg. On Saturday the conditions where a lot better, but the mayfly hatching was not very good. The midge and stoneflies, on the other hand, was on the water film with trout rising to them. My own game was not on and I had 4/5 takes that I missed.

In the Glomma river, more precisely on the Kvennan Fly Fishing fishery, the water level is stabile, but the weather has not been. As with the other areas, Kvennan have struggled with bad weather, but had really good fishing last week. Now with the calm south wind coming up, the conditions are going to pick up. The best mayfly patterns now are caddis#14, midge#16, brown gold head nymphs #14.

Hodaldsjøene lakes have fished well last week, and we are expecting it to come on fire in the next few days.

kvennan harr

The swedish flyfisher guys Anders, Simon and Jonas were very satisfied with the trip to Kvennan Fly Fishing.
