Langmaritåsen is a “Wilderness Camp” with beds for up to 15 people, split between two cabins. This property has everything you need to experience a very comfortable wilderness adventure with good friends around the campfire on beautiful summer evenings. With it’s own swimming area and the many wilderness opportunities and activities in the area, this is the perfect place for an activ vacation. With rental of the camp you are allowed to fish in all of the 3 surrounding lakes.

Langmaritåsen is centrally located near North Slaggtjonna Lake and Stentjønna Lake, in the north of Rendalen Municipality. The main house is an 8 sided wooden Laavo (traditional Sami tent/house), with a fire pit in the center. The Laavo includes a kitchen bench and dining table for roughly 20 people, propane refrigerator, and 2 ovens. It is also fully equipped with cups, dinnerware, and silverware.

Outside of the Laavo is a large terrace, with a large fire pit/barbeque. This is perfect for summer nights! You will also find a propane stove, tables, and chairs outside so you can either dine in or out depending on the weather.

The sleeping quarters consist of two separate cabins. Technically you can make food and hang out in the cabins as well, and with cooler weather this can be an option since the cabins have their own woodstoves. There are no pillows or comforters, so guests must bring their own sleeping bags.

There is also the option for setting up your own tent on the property for larger groups.

At the swimming area at Stentjønna Lake you can really live the good life with two separate wood heated hot tubs. In each of these there is room for up to 8 people. The floating dock makes it easy to cool off in Stentjønna when the hot tub gets too warm, and you will also find a fire pit to sit around and tell stories. For those who are a little by shy you will also find a dressing room at the swimming area.

Activities

Langmaritåsen is a natural base camp for wilderness adventures, where you will find many opportunities awaiting. If you don’t feel like driving there are plenty of things to do around the camp that can keep you busy for the entire week.

Langmaritåsen is located good fishing in 3 lakes. All of these are easily accessible by foot from the camp. Trout and char are the primary species you will find here, and the lakes include Northern and Southern Slaggtjønna,  and Stentjønna. You will find access to rowboats in Northern Slaggtjønna and Stentjøøna. There is also plenty of opportunity to fish from the banks. The clear and clean water here means that the fish can by shy, but if you are lucky there are good numbers of fish weighing 2 kilos or more.

From the camp it is only a short drive to many other fishing destinations throughout Rendalen and other areas in Fishspot. If you would like to try something besides fishing we also offer day trips with the following:

• Hiking trips to destinations: Jutulhogget – Northern Europes largest canyon, Bjørnehi, historic iron mines, and other historic cultural sites.
