Gjersjøhytta is located in the mountains on the banks of lake Gjersjøen at 975 meters over sea level, on the border between Forollhonga National Park and the nature reserve. This is a great starting point for hiking trips throughout Gjersjøhøgda, fishing in Vingelen, and for reindeer and grouse hunting at Busjødalsrabban.

The Gjersjøhytta cabin is a paneled cabin with a bedroom, living room and kitchen, totaling 28 m2. Originally built in 1933 it was restored in 1991. The cabin is owned by the Vingelen Tourism Association.

In the cabin you will find accommodation for up to 5 guests. Bring your sleeping bag. Water can be found in the well, cooking is done with propane, heat is provided by the woodstove, and you will find an outhouse at the cabin. Dogs are allowed. The distance from the road is roughly 4.5 km (a 1 hour hike), and the distance from the parking lot to the nearest town is 8 km.

The cabin is rented out during the period from St. Hans to the 1st of October, in addition toe the Easter holiday. During Easter the cabin must be rented out for a minimum of 3 nights, and must be ordered at least one week in advance. Snowmobile shuttles can be arranged during the winter.
