The last few weeks fishing the Glomma in Stor-Elvdal was a bit slow. Typical for the summer months. Not so typical for the summer was the average water level which was on the high side. But things are changing now. The days are getting shorter and the nights colder. Autumn has started and winter is preparing. Nature is reacting on this causing fish getting more eager to eat. And that is great for fly fishing!

Another positive thing is that the water level is sinking which makes wading much easier. Island hopping between the Koppang’s Øyene begins to be possible again and pools are easier to be found.

In the week of 3-9 September, the ‘Workshop is fly fishing on running water’ will be held for the ninth time. Base camp is – as always – Koppang Camping. Preparations are being made to get everything ready for the participants. If the weather and water level stays okay it will be another great workshop again!
