This video should raise some pulses with the trolling enthusiasts. Mr.Raymond Rudshaug from Norway made this film last year, but a nice film like this deserves to be displayed again. The Langsøen lake have some really big ferox trout.

* Trolling, for those who are not familiar with the term, is dragging lures on rods behind boats with various technological attributes .

The Langsjøen lake in Engerdal and Tolga is renowned for its massive trout, and an exotic place for many in the trolling community. The trout here, know for many as ferox trout, is believed to be a special strain of trout that came to be here during the last ice age. They are only found in a short list of big lakes in Norway. Langsjøen lake is one of them. In some lakes that we will reveal later, the trout can grow to over 12 kilos, here in Langsjøen the trout grow up to 4-6 kilos, still a substantial size of trout.  Mr. Raymond Rudshaug hooked up with two trout over 4 and 5 kilos on this trip alone – both released to bite another day.

Langsjøen lake is normally free from the ice cap around the 26th of may, so this is the time to start planning. The fishing is often best when water temperatures rises above 6 degrees celsius. Johnsgård Turistsenter is natural place to seek accommodation when fishing in Langsjøen. They have a good selections of cabins and caravan sites, not to mention welcoming hosts. They also have boats and docks that can accommodate people with disabilities, as the people behind Johnsgård Turistsenter believes nature should be enjoyed by everyone.
