If you happen to find yourself in Lom, you might just end up staying here for a while. The national park town of Lom has much to offer, and it is obligatory to take a stop here if you are passing by. When you come, you should probably make sure to have your fishing gear with you, and we recommend driving just a bit farther. You can take RV 55 towards Jotunheimen National Park. Here you will find the highest mountains in Norway and exciting glaciers, but you will also find many fantastic lakes and streams to fish under the Jotunheim License. This area offers excellent fishing and even better views, and is also a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee early in the morning while waiting for the fish to wake up.

This is the cradle of climbing in Norway, and there is no shortage of hikes to be embarked on here. When the goal is reaching a good fishing lake it makes the trip easy. It’s also nice to stop once in a while and soak in the view.

Its always nice when the fish are biting when you reach the fishing spot. Here you can fish with everything from flies to worms.

There isn’t much that beats a nice spotted mountain trout!

The possibilities here are almost endless, and it can be a bit difficult to choose exactly where you want to try your luck.

On the trip down we tried our luck fly fishing the upper portion of the river Bøvra, a very exciting river. Unfortunately the warm weather made for lazy fish and there were no risers to be found, but solid sources claim that there have been many fish caught here on the fly weighing over 3 kilos. I think this means we need to fish here again…

This area must simply be experienced, and it is vital that you bring your fly rod!

To the mountains people, to the mountains!
