New week and new fish reports from around Fishspot. A bit windy conditions has characterized fishing this week, without having diminished either the fishing or the results for our contributors. Our own ambassador, Jon Erlend Sundnes, has been out on a weekend fishing trip. However, not sharing with us exactly where he has been, based on the film he has put together, we dare claim that he and his companion have had a nice fishing weekend.

But not completely without challenges … See the whole movie at the top of the article.

Mayflies were hatching in numbers at Grimsa Fly Fishing zone on Saturday despite the windy conditions. There is very low waters at the moment and the river is crystal clear so the fish is very easy to scare. It seems to be a strong year for the grayling population in the river this year. It might be a result of the low water flow which allows a higher number of smaller (0.5-0.7 kg) grayling to migrate up to the river. However, Grimsa prodused plenty of grayling over 1 kilo Saturday.

Fishing guide Edward Scholten at Koppang Camping has sent us a video report from Sundfloen Fluefiskesone cathing the mood on the banks of Glomma, an area that holds good numbers of fish.

A grayling in the evening lights at Sundfloen fly fishing zone. Koppang Camping informs that they now also keep a small fly shop with fly-fishing equipment, perfect when in need of new gear during your fishing holidays. Pay them a visit when in the area. And why not have a day’s fishing in the area at the same time.

Det er gode forhold hos for tiden også.  Her har fiskeguide , innehaver av Escapade Norwegienne, vært sammen med en gruppe gjester. Og de har hatt godt fiske som vi kan se blant bildene vi har fått fra dem.

There are good conditions at Kvennan Fly Fishing at the moment too. Fishing guide Jean Philippe Pontier, and owner of Escapade Norwegienne, has been out with a group of guests at Kvennan. They seem to have had excellent fishing according to the pictures we have received from them.

A bit further north in river Glomma, Bernd Ziesche has visited the Os and Erlia fishing area. Much indicates that he does not regret that choice! Here is a bit of what he experienced in the lower part of Vangrøfta, a tributary to Glomma.

Venturing a bit south to Åmot Municipality, the guys from Truttagutta has visited Rena River and sent us following report on the conditions: “Suddenly low water levels made it a little challenging to find the big trout, but what conditions we met as soon as the wind died early Saturday morning. Sun, allmost no wind and nice hatches gave a beautiful Saturday and Sunday, with lots of rising  fish eager to take our flies.  The small caddis where to be found in huge numbers, and also some baetis mayflies. Imitations of the latter, sush as small small parachute patterns, were a sure choice when the presentation was adequate. In the evening, caddis patterns like the Superpuppa fished without movement worked like a charm. So,Now is the time to go to Rena River – lots of action and a gratifying dry-fly fishing. “

We will probably hear more from the guys “Truttagutta” in the next few weeks. We`re looking forward to it!

The Rena River serves generously these days. Owner of Rena Fishing Camp, and skilled fishing guide Lars B. Johansen, knows how to trick them. Here is one of his recent acquaintances:
