Rena River in Åmot has now reopened after a period with too high water temperature. The water flow is still very modest but the temperature has gone down sufficiently to be considered safe to open for fishing again. Please note that it is still closed below Lake Løpsjøen and Løpet power plant.

Åmot River Assosiation sent out following statement this afternoon:

“Water flow at Storsjøen Dam today: 10.7 m3/s. Water temperature: 14.3 degrees.
Measured temperatures today:
Hengebrua (The suspension bridge): 12.4
Raudstrømmen: 14, 0
Deset bridge: 13.8
Rød bridge: 15.9
Upstream outlet of Søre Osa: 16.8
Downstream Løpet power plant: 18.4
Heien: 20.1

Conclusion:
Southern Rena opens for fishing with immediate effect upstream of the Løpet power plant .
Downstream of the dam the river will still remain closed due to high water temperature.
