In the Vangrøfta river there is a rod-limit of ten rods at any given time.  There are no changes to license prices nor regulations from last year.  The Vangrøfta river is, despite its popularity, not a very easy river to fish. It holds big fish, and at times in good numbers, but they are a real challenge. For dry-fly enthusiasts it’s a very popular river as it snakes its way through the grassy planes, with a calm and easy flow in the water. The name Vangrøfta pretty much means a ditch in a grass field. Not a very appealing description, but fact of the matter is that it’s a very scenic and beautiful place. The conditions in Vangrøfta are very much relient on the water level and temperature. Mid-June and well into July are normally good weeks, but there is a real chance that melting of snow in the mountains happens early or later than normal, so the booking of tickets is always a bit of a gamble. However if you hit the right time it is really good, and is why this river is so popular.
