Mistra and other rivers in the area have finally settled down to nice summer flows. Storsjøen is filling up, and almost to summer water levels.

It is finally June, when things start to happen in the deep Mistra canyon, as well as the slower flowing sections above. Storsjøen has consistently delivered nice fish for both the locals and visitors. There have been many trout caught over a kilo, and the biggest so far was almost 8 kg!

Anglers have had good success both from land and from boats. There have also been fish over 2 kg caught on fly rods and streamers in Storsjøen.  Here you’ll find good opportunities for all types of anglers!

There have already been trout spotted in Mistra. It is typically from June and onward when you can get lucky and come in contact with the larger fish, and this is dependent on temperature and water levels.

Sunshine and good weather means the water temperature is going to be perfect soon, with everything in place for a proper month of fishing!

Here you’ll do best with wobblers from 7-9 cm. But worms, streamers, and dry flies are also very effective for big Mistra trout.

We would also like to challenge everyone interested to sign up for the annual fishing event here in Rendalen, Fiskefesten!

This is a fishing competition which takes place betweenn the 25-27 of June.

During the contest you can fish in both Storsjøen and Mistra, and if you’re lucky you can walk away with a nice cash prize.
