Early summer wading the Rena river is an adventure, and if you have not fished there before, this is the time to do it. Her you will have a very good chance at catching really big grayling and trout. The Rhodani mayfly is hatching now, and if the day is windy, you can still catch fish on nymphs. The fish in the Rena river is often pressed right up against the bank, so there is no need for deep wading.

A natural place for many to gather after a hard day of fishing, is the Rena Fish camp. Here you can socialize with other fishermen, have a good meal and drinks in the cafè. You can also rent a room there, pitch a tent and also hire a guide for drift boat fishing or general guiding of the river,  a smart move if you dont know the river well.

The Rena river has a very good habitat for aquatic insects and the trout and grayling grows large fast because of it. The prolific insect life has different periods of hatching throughout the summer, thus keeping the whole season interesting.

It’s not a proper fishing restaurant until you can wear waders while enjoying a cold beverage.

One grayling was brought home for the table. Grayling on the BBQ is a great tasting treat.

Fishing bliss.
