Galten in Engerdal – A fishing paradise
In 2013 visited photographer Bård Løken the fishing areas around the lake Galten in Engerdal. He was in company with the dedicated flyfishermen Tor Solbakken and Tore L. Rydgren. See the fantastic images… All photos taken by photographer Bård Løken.
Fly fishing has a long tradition in this area, on the west bank you will find “Smithsetra”. The English Smith brothers built “Smithsetra” at the end of the 19th century.
In addition to go fishing in the fly fishing zones you can also fish from boat at the lake Galten.
In the following series of pictures shows Tore L. Rydgren how to catch a big grayling.

The area also offers breathtaking scenery.
Tor and Tore is not the first fly fishers who visiting the area. The area was visited by english fly fishing enthusiasts already in the end of the 19th century. You can read more about the amazing story here (at norwegian).
