The spring are upon us after a long and snowy winter. The last days of high temperatures has led to melting snow and rising water levels in the rivers. In the mountains there is still snow and the vast majority of lakes is still cowered by ice. But we are one step closer to the long awaited fishing season. However, in lower areas we have heard rumors that gnats and even the mayfly Leptophlebia marginata has been observed.

A week ago, the fishing in Renaelva opened for the season. And it has not gone unnuticed among the most eager of fishermen. And despite high water levels and low water temperatures, fishing has been good. We know that there has been caught trout of 4.7 kg allready, perhaps even bigger as well.

The two fishermen Inge Rønning and Anders Svalstad were on site the opening day. It resultet in over 40 trout caught. Read about the fishing trip in their blog. Our own fishing ambassador, Jon Erlend Sundnes, has also tried his luck in Rena. Among other things, it resulted in this movie:
