The Lesja mountain region governs an exciting and varied fishing after trout, arctic char and grayling. Either you want to fish in pristine mountain lakes after hours of hiking, or the more accessible areas near to roads, in this area you will find it all. Boats and cabin can also be rented.

Lesja mountain board offers fishing in Dalsida and Lordalen in Lesja municipality, where you can fish for mountain trout and arctic char in a 1600 km2 wide area, well known for its epic natural scenes.
The license gives you access to a varied fishing in over 230 waters and 180 km with rivers and creeks. Some of them are easy to reach, and some are only obtainable after long hikes. With this many options everyone will find a fishing suited for their dreams. Trout is by far the dominating species, but in lakes like Flisarvatn, Trælen and Sjongsvatn down in the valley of Dalsida you can fish for arctic char, while in Aursjøbassenget, Vangsvatnet and Vangstjønn you will also find grayling and trout.
Most fishing areas in this area are in an altitude between 800 and 1400 m.a.s.l. Even as high as 1550 m.a.s.l you will fin waters with fish in them. The mountain board, an efford to keep the waters with a health trout population, by releasing some 2500 fish every year, in the many lakes and ponds in the area. Its mostly the higher lakes than needs this help, as the natural productin can be slow.
Lesja mountain board (Lesja Fjellstyre) have several cabins in proximity to the better lakes for rent. Some come with a boat as well.
