Gjerfloen Fly Fishing Zone
Gjerfloen Fly Fishing Zone is a very good zone for grayling, with size averaging at 35 cm. This is a perfect place both for the novice and the experienced fly-fisher. It’s easy to wade the river and you can use all styles of fly-fishing such as nymph, streamer and dryfly.
Gjerfloen Fly Fishing Zone has 7 km of riverbank and is located south in Trysil, about 10 km from the Swedish border. The zone offers easy wading under normal water levels.
There is a bag limit and a limited number of licenses sold each day. Gjerfloen also offers equipment hire and a guide/instructor is present.
Best season: June- October.

Licenses can be obtained with Snorre Grønnæss (see map). Follow sign to Gjerfloen Fluefiske (Grønnæs) RV 26 by Plassen.
- Bag limit 1 fish under 38 cm per angler per day.
- Fly Fishing and barbless hooks only.
- Children under the age of 16 fish for free but have to obey the regulations.
Sign posts with maps at all the parking places. Trails along the river on both sides. All anglers will get a catch report form that must be returned in the dedicated mailbox by Grønnæss (see map). Show respect for farmed fields, do not walk across but walk on the edges. Respect local residents and only use marked parking places (see maps.). Remember that the atmosphere on and around the river is our common responsibility. Respect other anglers and bring your garbage back with you, don’t leave it in nature.
