Autumn was short and way to cold. Fishing in Stor-Elvdal was not so easy. The season finally started with a warm week at the end of June but that caused a decent amount of melting water from the mountains. Although the water level was pretty high, insects came alive with loads of big yellow mayflies and fishing was very good.

Later on the weather was ‘a bit’ unstable causing water levels to go up and down. This did not make it easy to find the right places and pools for good fishing, but with a bit help from a local guide, many people from all over Europe were able to catch beautiful, strong grayling and trout.

Predictions..? Well, it looks like the water level is going down and the weather is getting more stable. This makes it easier to do som ‘island hopping’ in the famous area ‘Koppangs Øyene’, to reach the good pools with nice big grayling. Fingers crossed!
