Alvdal municipality and its fishing area has a good variation of fishing opportunities and great nature. You will find a good number of rivers, creeks and both small and big lakes. The most popular species are trout, arctic char, whitefish, grayling, perch and pike. Here the potions are many and the fishing varies both in species and nature surroundings.

There is one fishing license that covers most areas in the Alvdal municipality. Five areas are covered by this license and these areas are:

Glomma and Folla: The rivers Glomma and Folla, inside the Alvdal municipality, and also the Sølna river that runs down stream of the Sølndammen lake. The rivers are easy accessible from the valley and offers miles of fishing for both trout and grayling. Fishing permittet all year in Glomma.

Sølndalen (valley):  The rivers Sølna, Veslsølna and Kvislåa can be found here, and also the four lakes Sølnsjøen, Breidsjøen, Stråsjøen and Holmsjøen.  The area holds both trout and arctic char. The rivers are good for kanoting. Several of the lakes are easily accessible and are good for families with children. Fishing permittet all year.

Aumdalen and its surrounding area: The license covers Auma river with all the surrounding creeks, ponds and lakes. Kvislåtjønna (pond/small lake), Storbekken (creek), Stortjønna (lakes).  If you like the hike and the solitude and quaint nature, this is a good area.

Kvebergstjønna (lakes):  Kvebergstjønna have a very good population of trout, are family friendly and accessible. 

Strålsjøen (Lake):  Strålsjøen are idyllically situated near to Savalen with both trout and arctic char. Fishing permittet 01.06. – 31.08..

Fishing License do not apply for lake Mjovatnet, Kjemsjøen, Haustsjøen, Vesltsteitjønna or Søndre Klettsjøen.

Rules

• Fising permitted all year in Glomma, Sølndalen and Kvebergstjønna. Fishing in Strålsjøen permittet between 01.06. – 31.08. Other areas  fishing is permitted between 1.6 – 15.9.
• You can use fly, worm and lure.
• The licnse is personal and do not apply to others. You must also have a valid ID.
• Children under the age of 16 can fish without a license. Other rules still apply.
• Regulation breach will be reported

Other information

Take your garbage back home, don’t leave it in nature.
